They clearly have a vested interest in trying to convince people she’s actually popular. She isn’t. Do you really think democrats went from liking her less than Elizabeth Warren to totally thinking she’s great, or even competent in 4 years when the whole time the media and other democrats have been speculating as to how they can get rid of her before Biden dies without pissing off the black caucus ?

Doesn’t mean she won’t win, but I’m pretty sure it’s all hype. And as soon as she has to actually talk unscripted everyone will remember why they hate her. Are you not a little suspicious of why she hasn’t been all over making speeches, doing press conferences and actually campaigning ? 70 days to the election and she’s just gonna chill because she’s so popular ? ???

I know all that. The best reason I can suggest for what I see as genuine excitement is because Biden was sure to lose, but now they have a chance.
 
No one was excited about Romney, but republicans voted for him. On the flip side, I think the energy for Trump has waned substantially.

You could be right dude. I’m not Kreskin. I don’t think so though. I mean the last 4 years haven’t excited anyone except the far left. And Harris is demonstrably further left than Biden.

We’ll see.

Could be an indicator. You’re in a pretty blue area though. Around here it’s all red and all Trump.

I drove through a STL suburb on my way to a job yesterday and on a major corner I saw a giant BLM banner. 4, older white people. One lady had a shirt on that said I love cats. 4 old liberals is all they could muster.

I don’t even think the left was energized by the last four years. I think it has been a slog, which adds to my idea that Dems are just happy to be through with that. I’m just speculating on all this. I don’t really know anything in particular. Just my take.

They should be peppier. Anything is peppier than 'Sleepy Joe'. At least Kamala can speak correctly. It may not have much content but she can speak clearly. Trump ain't perfect, but he's a lot better than Kamala. Things like protecting our border, our kids and our economy are important to me so that's where my vote goes.

My dad told me once that if you don't vote, then you can't complain about the outcome. Makes sense. Like Vonbonfire, I went a fair amount of time in my middle ages not voting. I also went pretty quiet on politics and just went with the flow. As I get older, I find myself getting more and more conservative. Probably because the decline gets more evident, and most fingers point back to the Democratic Party.

In my view that the system itself is doomed to fail. There are too many incentives for corruption and self advancement at the expense of the country. Maybe the dems are worse but no way they are responsible. The two party system is an illusion designed to give you the feeling of participation and choice. And an outlet for your frustration when the system itself is to blame. There is no real choice and no one is going to fix it. The money flows make it so that any difficult measures that need to be implemented will never happen because the political blowback would be too great.
