The country wasn't and isn't falling apart. That is highly subjective. You don't just suspend people's rights because people ( all somehow aligned with a single political persuasion) feel like society is falling apart. Fuck that. Seems to be a fundamental difference between Americans and Australians. At least most of the ones here. I am not willing to give up my rights, especially when I don't believe the alleged cause exists.
