Biggest steal you've ever gotten a piece of gear for?

Around 2002 the same pawn shop sold me an Esp Ouija for $600 and a 1994 Ibanez Iceman IC500 for $180. Sold the Ouija to pay for my wedding and traded the Iceman for a Prs ce22. Probably should have kept the Iceman even though the Prs is pretty good.

2009. Bought a limited edition 1988-89 Hamer Californian for $100 off Craigslist. It had the trifecta. Reverse headstock, boomerang inlays and original flip flop finish. Sold it a few months later for $800 plus shipping but..... I definitely wish I had kept it.

Splawn Quick Rod for $600 Canadian.

I traded that for some limited run SG Special (Ebony with crescent moons), a Marshall Vintage Modern 50 watt and some cash

Sold the Vintage Modern for 1K plus a Suhr Riot Mini, traded the Crescent Moon SG for a Rack mount Dual Rectifier. Eventually traded that Racto for an LP Standard. all of these things are gone now. But that was my best string of wheeling and dealing.

Damn, and I thought my '89 Cali for $420 was a steal. Bought it wayyyy before 2009 too haha

1985 2203 I got for $600 bucks in 2012. Recapped and sold it for twice the price, thinking I was a winner. Still kick my self in the ass.

- 1981 Les Paul Custom in Natural finish for $1000 from a bud on HC back in the day.

- 1984 Gibson Flying V in purple from one of my Air Force buddies for $400.

Like a dumbass, don't have either anymore.

Forgot one.

I unearthed a 1971 Marshall 1992 Superbass 120W with original power tubes in upstate NY out of an estate sale. I drove 14 hours round trip to get it. Got there and found it was also a rosemary.

Grabbed it for $1600 cash. Not 3 months later I rescued a dog that needed thousands to save her life and had to flip it and also setup a go fund me.

I got a Friedman small box with a mesa 4x12 OS cab for 2k even. Pretty banging deal, but not “I stole it” good like some of these.

Good on you brother

Got a DW 9000 double kick pedal at the pawn for 100$ . I convinced em the bearings etc were shot.

I bought a Jem 77FP before they went total collector's items. It wasn't a "steal" compared to some of these,
but I paid probably 1/3 of what they're going for now.
