Official Mesa IIC++ Reissue?

I suppose a person could use the effects loop send as a preamp out into a different power amp - if the reissue’s have an effects loop send that isn’t brought down to instrument level like a lot of amps do
 
Thanks for that post! You made me play my IIC+ RI. It had been a while for various reasons... But powering it up and playing through it put a nice smile on my face :giggle:
 
This thing sounds mean but then again I’ve never played a real Mark…it’s going to be a good weekend 🤘
 
They were supposedly not supposed to ship until 7/15 which is the release date.

I’ve never played or owned a real Mark series so it’s all new to me. I started with the manual’s settings and have tweaked from there. I haven’t even tried the “clean” channel yet but will let you know how clean it can get. The lead channel sounds mean in drop C. I haven’t even tried “Metallica” settings which I know most people want to hear. Are they on the internet somewhere?

I don't know, may be do a google search for them for those settings as I am not the type of player who was has been searching for them. My story is a bit similar to yours, my first reference with a Mark series was my mini MarkV:25 and as my fav channel on it was the IIC+, I ordered a RI the day I learned about it, it was before all the internet drama about those amps. So far so good for me, my IIC+ delivers and I can get many good sounds out of it. Now, I'd be very curious to compare it to a IIC++

I only mainly used Petrucci settings, they sounded fuller and more usable. The Metallica tones I tried dialing in on any of my Marks always sounded like dookie. Start with Petrucci settings and adjust to taste. EQs on mine changed tone dramatically with a tiny movement.

Volume: 7-8
Treble: 7-7.5 Pulled
Bass: 2-3
Mid: 3-5
Master: 2-3 Pulled - Going over 3 on my old IIC+'s would destroy my ears
Lead Drive: 7-8
Lead Master: 3-4
Presence: 3-4

EQ:
80: Slightly under the top line
240: Just above the mid line
750: Just above the low line
2200: Just above the mid line
6600: Slightly higher than 2200

Congrats on the amp.

To get close to Metallica tones you need an outboard EQ in the loop - it's a critical part of the sound. I wouldn't bother looking online, just tweak away until it sounds good to your ear!
 
A Puppet Master eq in a Mark series loop is crazy. Makes me want another one😂
 
She’s here… couple things to note.
- Can’t believe how heavy this amp is!
- Box they ship it in needs side cutout handles, box was roughed up and UPS guy almost dropped it. Fragile markings on box are way too un-noticeable
- fit and finish is “meh” no flaws worth making a big deal about but the tolex wrap on the upper right shows the folds slightly (at least more than the left). Some of the screwed on pieces just seem slightly crooked to the eye although they probably aren’t. These things don’t bother me, but they are there if you want to be extremely picky
- Serial Number is past 200 so it’s not limited to 200 made?
- the “++” mode is permanent. This doesn’t bother me but I was thinking it would be switchable. In fact, the first thing I did was go to pull out the mid knob. This knob will not pull out, use protection
- Looks like the reverb can’t be switched out unless you plug in the foot switch? I might want it switched out vs putting the pot to 0.
- the power cord (\m/) is hard wired. Not a con to me, but that did throw me off

I haven’t decided whether or not being able to switch ++ in/out is actually a good thing. It certainly helps out the people that bought the regular + version because this amp won’t have that identical circuit/ different gain staging.

Oh and I haven’t played it yet. I’m behind on projects so I can’t comment on sound yet

Also, there is that dude who is having issues with feedback when using the regular +. I will say that the manual states about 10 times that the ++ will have more feedback/oscillation at lower settings. To me this is only a given, but at the same time… what’s the point of having more gain if you can’t use it anyways?

When I’m using high gain tones on almost any amp, it will scream at me when not playing and when not using a gate. In other words, I see this as a non-issue. I suppose we’ll see whenever I plug it in

Any advice from 2c+ nerds that use it for extreme metal tones will be nice to reference to
 
@Faded Abyss congrats on the new IIC++!

Regarding the "power cord", your IIC++ should be quite similar to my IIC+ RI, you can unplug it if you want. It looks hard wired but it is not.
