I can think of at least 2 constitutionally protected rights that have been systematically infringed on for years, completely independent of Maga ( whatever that is).

Your solution is to perpetuate the problem which is perceived or real political influence being exerted from within the public service due to politically motivated appointments.

The real solution is to ensure that all appointments within the public service are done on the basis of the most qualified person for the job and to ensure methodologies for producing reporting are free from political bias and can withstand an annual audit process. If changes to the methodology to produce reports needs to occur because circumstances demand it any change in the reporting method should also be footnoted in the reports so that everyone knows the basis of the calculations. So nothing short of standard accounting practice.

Why is your country so fucking stupid? Why is your public service not independent from politics? Why do you perpetuate this type of madness by trying to subvert and bend the truth to fit a political party's narrative? And why can't you think of how to fix the problem yourselves - it's fucking basic logic and normal practice.

I wouldn’t quite say it’s the same thing. Trump (or any president) putting one of his guys in charge of the side of government that controls information should be a reason for concern for everyone
