Amp showed up today. Spent maybe ten minutes with it but so far so good. Feels great. Big big low end of you want it. Mids sit nicely. Gonna have to play with settings to dial in the bottom end perfectly but I think it won’t be too hard. Here’s a quick Mercyful Fate clip….

I really dig it...Nice old school, crunchy Marshall vibe. And that riff choice suits the amp perfectly. Sounds like you are using EMGs?

My email came up.
Having an SLO, Wiz MC50 and GZ modded SS, I really don't need the Jose.
But would love to check it out.
@Tone Monster how are you digging it?
Anything different enough about it that makes it worth having vs your other great amps?

It’s an awesome amp. I definitely could’ve gotten by without grabbing one between the Headfirst Cali and Langer Marshall, but I’m glad I grabbed one. I’d say it’s a modern take on that sound (if desired). You can dial in a huge bottom end that those amps don’t really have.

What are you going to in order to dial in this low end? Usually he has a Thump knob. Mine arrives Friday!!

This kid is watching his email come in as he realizes he has $2.50 in his piggy bank and then someone swoops in and takes the spot off his hands.

You're not really talking me out of it. I want to sell amps and get a new motorcycle, dammit. Do better! Lol
One thing about the Wizard MC50 6L, it has as much, or more, tight low end, than either 100 watter, both with thump/depth knobs. I don't even like a lot of low end, but that Wiz just does it right. I dunno how Rick does it, but that 2x6L6 amp hangs with anything I've ever had, in the gain dept, with regards to feel, clarity, thump. I'm talking every Mesa, Fryette, Friedman, Naylor, EVH... It just doesn't have the compressed, singing quality for solos of the Naylor, SLO, or GZ SS. Always a hard mistress.
I kind of love the Wiz, despite it being the least versatile and most expensive.

Dude. So wrong for that.

Not me I’m afraid. I’d rather get another two guitars and an amp with the money for that one amp. It’s a fun tone but not a grail tone for me when it comes to Marshall’s. I’ll take a stock superlead and a pedal any day over something like this or an Evil Joe etc.

I’d say get it, put it through the grinder, and if it doesn’t scratch that itch move it. Seems like people are recouping most of their money.
