I can’t enjoy any angled can on top of another . Something about it just does not cut it fir me . I never stack my cabs . But hey sometimes werurd shit does work . I used to put the mic on the side and mic the handle . The head was a vht Deliverance . It’s sounded so good . I was like what is going on here lolDidn't Nolly say the top speakers were always his go-to for micing because speakers parallel to the rear wall get a buildup of low mids and a cancellation of very-slightly-higher mids?
I agree . His live Marshall tone on the 1973 live album is just feral . I always wondered why he didn’t do that in studio . It’s brutalWell...When your Jimmy Page you can do whatever the fuck you want..![]()
Seriously.
Why not just mic the source?

A recent horrible sounding amp demo got blamed on the angled speaker being mic'd, and that only jerkoff noobest of noob engineers would commit such a horrible atrocity. now when i see someone doing it i LOL![]()
