Rush tour ticket price fiasco

Yeah, I was unlikely to go anyway since the closest concerts are a couple of states away, but the ticket prices are such that I doubt I'd go if they play locally. I went to a bunch of concerts in the past, generally being up close on the floor. The last few tours I didn't pay the extra prices for those but had nice seats upper level to the side. Now, I can't imagine pay several hundred to sit in the nosebleed seats.

It seems that plenty of people are going and will enjoy themselves. While I expected high ticket prices, these are beyond what seems reasonable to me.

At the insane prices, I opted out, and I'm over it.

I've been to numerous shows in the past few years that I paid less than $200 and often less than $100 for tickets. I know it's Rush (well, two thirds of Rush), but over $400 for nosebleed seats is just idiotic.

Go buy a 6505 used instead !

I just wait until the day of the show. That's when the ass hats charging thousands finally drop the price to a hundred bucks to avoid the total loss of not selling the ticket. Remember: It's supply and DEMAND.

i saw this the other day

Seeing Rush today is like seeing Polyphia without Tim Henson. Sure, you could find another player that has the requisite number of hair scrunchies tied to their guitar's neck but it'll never be the same

Yeah, same deal as the tickets for Gilmour last year. Didn’t stop me because it was Gilmour but that’s the only dude I’d ever pay that kind of money to see (night 1 we got floor seats for $400 each, night 2 we got side seats for $890 a pop).

What I’m curious about is how much the bands know about this. Like is it being floated to them as “some of the seats we’ll include dynamic pricing on” or are they getting the full story? I’d have to imagine guys like Lifeson, Gilmour or Lee aren’t getting on Ticketmaster and looking at their own tickets or are even in the room when pricing is being discussed with booking agencies.

I signed up for the pre-sale and as soon as they went on sale, the cheapest seat was $277 and they were not good seats. By they end of the day the cheapest seat was $700. Still getting updates for tickets for sale and they are not getting any cheaper. I will wait until the month of the show in Cleveland to see who might be unloading something that they bought a year earlier.

I've wondered about that too. The Rush dudes have always seemed pretty down to earth on things, but they've also been pretty practical economically, so I don't really know. I work in an industry where we frequently select materials without really knowing what they'll cost the user - students in my case - unless we put some real investigation into it ahead of time, so I do understand it's possible to just be out of touch on that too. (It irritates me when others don't do that too, but it happens often enough.)

I'll just watch Rush in concert on YT with Neal Peart drumming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a fuck you to the fans......................:loco:
