Seen a few people hse this thing..but to my ear it fastened the tone. This tightens it. You've got me interested though
To me the dept 10 feels like if you could somehow instantly tweak the knobs on your amp for a solo boost or whatever. I set it to be a little brighter but the boost keeps the feel intact.

Only downside is a little tone suck from the buffer. But I bet some would use it as an always on pedal. I just use it for a subtle boost to hit my rock rhythm tone for a little extra.

The down side is that it is not cheap in terms of boosts but hey, if you can dress up a distortion plus and sell it for over 200$ as a RR sig pedal, then it isn't too bad.

I have a Carvin Legacy. I just checked the site and says not compatible with Carvin amps? Anyone else ever tried it with a Legacy?

That’s interesting. I’m assuming it has something to do with what Carvin uses as their V2 spot or how it’s wired up?

FWIW, this is the V2 Hot Mod on my Plexi50, Treble input, dimed volume and an SD-1 pushing the input even harder (Level cranked, drive down)

This is why I’m thinking throwing one in a JCM800 would be closer to where I want to go, I’d prefer to get that tone without the SD-1 and use something for a lead boost, SD-1 or not. Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to get that Plexi clean tone once you’re in this territory.

I don't know, that sounds pretty badass to me. Why mess with a recipe that works?

Well, the Hot Mod with the Gain engaged can take away some of the versatility the Plexi offers, so I’d rather have one in a JCM800 that I would have no problem using as a one-trick pony. 90% of the time I’m using the Plexi I’m on the Normal channel, volume around 4 without the Gain on the Hot Mod engaged, I just stack pedals into it for the variance in dirt and it’s been my most enjoyable rig in over 30 years.
