I'ma probably gopher a Charvel San Dimas Style 1 Satin Ferrari Red Pro Mod in HH vs a SoCal Gloss Ferrari HSS model ...... It's just the least money out of the bunch.... It's got a Rosewood board which actually is more desirable as good as Ebony is for me...... Don't forget Rosewood models cost more and were only on upper tier models when the CITES BS was happening....... now it's at a discount the way I see it :dunno:

Plus the HSS SoCal Models while amazing just remind me too much of a Fender guitar and I prefer more wood with the SoCal and the overall look of a Charvel in San Dimas models and color of the Satin Ferrari Red vs Gloss Ferrari Red too......

Plus the San Dimas version just gives off more Darth Vader vibes ^_^

Dont have a new Charvel but do have a '17 white San Dimas. Love the neck shape and finish with jumbo frets. Its temperamental on humidity changes so it stays home alot. Once its stable it stays in tune very well. I have some dead spots around 12-14 frets. I’ve tried all sorts of set up changes without any impact. (frets are level) Not buying one of those plates for the back of the headstock either. Despite this overall these are great guitars for the money. Have a '86 model 6 which I love but I've got some electronic bullshit going on with it...think the bridge pup is going. Anyway I have 3 dozen guitars so tend to put away broken shit for awhile until I'm ready to face reality with it.

Yes! Love that they're now offering some hardtail options. Hope they start offering some MIJ hardtail options too (preferably in Burgundy Mist!)

Really like the look of this one:

Yeah a lot of no BS no frills players love Hardtails...... And yeah I mean me I want a trem but there are a lot more guys who dont even need one and actually prefer HT guitars....

Plus with the carves and smooth corners on these and the top notch features and appointments..... Can't go wrong with a Charvel HT or FR or 2P model....... :dunno:

Yeah they've definitely improved the neck/heel joint! I had a Style 2 Charvel from 2018 and it had a slightly contoured heel, but nothing like the current model.

I like trems too. I actually really like the sound of whammy bar vibrato like Adrian Smith does on Somewhere in Time. Have a floating Gotoh 510 on my Ibanez AZ, but been moving more towards hardtail bridges since my band has played a number of one off shows/mini tours where we can only bring one guitar, but we have songs in standard and drop.

I was close to pulling the trigger on the hardtail So Cal in Pharaohs Gold...

I think they have a open box one at Zzounds for a good deal the Grey HT model is less than 850$ bucks too....... Stupid deal on either for sure.

The Pharaohs Gold isn't in production anymore so that Open Box is as good as you'll get short of new and at a discount in a sense..... And yeah the Grey one is a stupid deal regardless.

I have 3 DK24 (one 2P, the other two HT) and a Style 2 HT...

Would love to eventually see a DK24 HT with HS configuration and a pickguard, shredders heel, ebony or maple fretboard, matching paint job/headstock... in something like a deep dark cherry red/black...

I have a combination of the two. I turned a Ferrari Red HSS into a HH

Sounds good so far. Had to drop the Duncan Distortions way down. Nice rock tones from the pickups and the ash body. I did notice when I tap the outer bridge coil I can do the Gary Moore hot strat thing really well.

No surprise...... With a plethora of options available to them and being able to get anything they want on the market........

Players like Sean Long choose Charvel..... Nothing fancy and just a players guitar
