What modules did you get?

I got the BE DLX and they gave me a free Plex module.

I don’t know about a bust, but I’m not buying a 20w EL84 amp sight unseen. I haven’t found one of these near me yet to try. I’m afraid it won’t have enough ass…

If it was 2x EL34 in a 30-50w amp they would have been better off. Just my opinion though.

I would think EL84s would do a better job at not coloring the tone, especially for the cleaner stuff. My JEL20 has plenty of bottom end... some people think it has too much.

I have been considering a Syn 1 before this was announced, still might go that route but the power amp shaping features on the Syn 20 have me interested. It seems the modules can be hit & miss without the right poweramp.

Seems like something they'd drool over. TGP is all about 20 watts is more than enough and how much does it weigh.

I suspect this is the reason RT isn't overly interested in it. Most of us want our big boy 100 watt amps. It's not about needing to be loud. It's about 100 watters having big iron and tubes that produce the fullness and ballsy tone we're wanting. A puny 20 watt with EL84's just doesn't cut the mustard.

I had a Syn-50 for a while and that thing was a beast. I imagine it’s only a matter of time until they stick an ir loader in that too

They seem to be doing that and posting about it at TGP. It seems they love it. I would have already ordered the one with the Ecstasy module if they were in stock.

Anyone else able to offer a review on this amp? I'm thinking about pairing it with a 2x12 and a small pedal board for a smaller practice/jam rig. Just can't convince myself to go all digital yet.

I picked one of these up from Guitar Center and I gotta say...I'm impressed. At volumes under about 95db it actually hangs with my bigger heads. Plenty full and warm like you'd expect from bigger bottles. I've only owned one EL84 based amp prior to this, so I don't have much experience but this seems way better in this regard. I've also owned the SYN50 and to my surprise, I am preferring the SYN20.

The reactance knob is very powerful, and will bight your head off when cranked. The structure settings are subtle but do make a difference not just in tone but feel, which is very cool. I'll need more time with it before making a decision, as I am also debating a SYN2-2/90/2 combo, but that would be quite a bit more expensive. 6505 and DRECT modules inbound!

Actually, I just realized that I probably won't just show up at a gig with it and band practice would probably be the first time. I know how loud my Orange Dual Baby has to be at practice so I'll know almost immediately if that thing will hang. My drummer is loud.

I ended up getting the SLO II module due to reviews and seemed like it was pretty versatile. I can definitely see myself getting a Marshall one and eventually a Bogner maybe or Killer Kali. Something that is big time modsed Marshall tones.

I had the Syn 50 head with SLO II module couple years back and really was impressed with tone and feel. Had the SLO 30 at same time and I didn't 'miss' the SLO 30 for the few gigs I had it. Band is done but considering something like the 20IR to have around just to scratch the itch when needed.... or if I get back out there again.
