well it's fun and interesting for some, but I kind of agree. I hear many guys on youtube that get extremely close to Ed's tone with far less complicated set-ups. I'm not one of those "tone is all in the hands" guys necessarily, but in this case what accounts for that missing 10% - 20% is EVH's...
Sweet. Love his work. Some of that VH stuff he did with Corey Taylor live was hella fun looking. I'm guessing he has an EVH 5153 variant and a few pedals.
Hopefully he doesn't mind me sharing this: up until fairly recently, he used a Marshall JVM210H. Now it's the EVH 100 EL34 version and...
@angelspade - please share how why when you were talking with John 5?

2. Alice In Chains - Dirt
3. Cro-Mags - The Age of Quarrel
4. Faith...

I held onto the Koch Supernova running through the Mesa Oversized 4x12 (covers the modern boutique sounds) and I picked up a Marshall JVM410H running into the Marshall 1960A 4x12 (covers the more traditional stuff). Two Heads...9 channels between them, plenty of sounds for now.
