What is your bug out plan?

Late to the party but the plan is to grow existing relationships with neighbors. Most have livestock, chickens, ect and are on a similar page. Existing food and water stores are covered for 3+ months, from there it would be a lotta eggs and well water. Immediate plan of attack would get every...

    Genalex Gold Lion KT-77 Quad

Genalex Gold Lion KT-77 Quad. They have roughly 3hrs of time on them with about 1hr of that being burn in to check for bias drift. I just don’t like them in my JMP. No issues with matching. Yours for $205 delivered in the continental US.

    Preparing amp for long-term storage?

They’re fine as is. Only thing I might do is tape over the jacks or any holes to keep dust/ creatures out. If it’s in an enclosed container maybe some desiccant packs

THD Hotplate question re Wattage reduction

I believe they cut wattage in half every click. So it would be 0=100w -4=50w -8=25w -12=12.5w -16=6.25-0w. Just remember most that Marshall cranked puts out about 180watts, so doubble the above wattage numbers if it’s cranked.

Who is the unofficial amp manufacturer of Rig Talk?

Given this is mostly forum leans heavy towards 80’s and 90’s metal. I’d say Marshall and mesa boogie. If you collected the numbers I bet the most prolific amp here is nmv and mv Marshall’s, probably modded by 3-4 various builders here. Followed closely by mark 2/3/4’s, maybe dual rectos.

Did my Marshall BV cab just blow ?

Probably a connection at or near the jack. Do you have a 9v? If so you can touch that to the cable to get cone movement.

Sounds like you might have nicked it, that stuff is really hard to strip correctly. I’d almost recommend peeling it vs using wire cutters. You should only need a grid resistor on the first stage.

Two things on the coax. Make sure you didn’t cut through that clear insulator. Also if you haven’t, move that 68k grid to the tube socket.

    Seeking recommendations

Like others have said depends on the audience and what you think is easy. My top choice would be shimmering highs by John norum but I don’t think that’s super easy to learn. March of the crabs is pretty easy and sounds cool. Maybe switch 625?

Nice, I didn’t see it in the earlier pics but you should try some shielded coax on both grids of v1. That should help with noise when adding more gain.

I do it like this… basically just the diodes tied in off the 100k with a switch to ground.

I like 2k7 with 0.68 bypass caps on both sides of v1. Might also try getting rid of the plate snubber, a 33k to the first grid and a 150k on the first plate. Maybe some diodes too, they’re pretty easy to install on a switch. Check your B+ to the pre as well. Might try bumping those voltages up...
