I had the Dano Fish-n-Chips years ago. It sounded great! It didn't last (I stomped too hard on it one too many times) but it was a really nice sounding pedal.

Oh man, you can't use the loop volume?!?! That thing is my best friend! Maybe an attenuator? Can you get your Nitro's loop fixed? Might be worth a shot.

Just FYI I'm 99% sure when you kick in the solo boost it goes to OD2. Do a quick experiment, it's subtle but it's definitely there when I hit the boost on my Street Rod.

I think the "treble on 0" mojo is only in the older QR's. I know when I zero the treble on my Street Rod it just takes away treble, no mojo. I've heard the newer QR's are the same in that respect, not sure what the cutoff date was for that "feature".

I have a Zoom G3 and I use +4. I'd try that one first. It's easy to do an A/B comparison. It does seem that +4 is quieter in my righ.

Hmm.... now I'm not 100% sure they're EL34B's... coulda sworn the tech said they were EL34B but could be EL34L. I remember some letter designation on them. 🤷‍♂️

Well when my Street Rod blew up (spilled water apparently caused things to blow, important safety tip, NO drinks on top of your amp!) the tech put in JJ EL34B's. I noticed a lot more "oomph", really like them! Good luck OP.

What sold me on them was when a guest guitarist came to practice for an old band I played in. He brought a (I think) SuperSport head and a little Marshall 1x12 cab. His tone was gloroius! I knew I had to have one...

So I bumped up my gain from 1:00 to 2:30ish and like it better, more sustain (duh!) and a little thicker which I like. I did this long ago, for some reason backed down to 1:00. Anyway, it seems that there's more of a difference when switching between OD1 and OD2 when the gain is higher...
