I would prefer something that hasn't been modded, or if it has been modded I would need to see gut shots to make sure work performed wasn't suspect. Thanks for looking.
First of all I do believe that this RL cab is a U.S made Diezel cab. If someone can confirm that would be great. Also is this cab better sounding than the Mesa 4x12 Traditional Straight cab? I have the Mesa Traditional Straight cab and i really like it, so not sure it's worth getting this...
After trying some EL34BSTR's in my VH4 and not liking the sound at all I decided to go back to the KT77's. When I bias the the 77's I get one pair at 70mA while the other is at 62mA. I'm assuming this is okay, or should I lower the bias to 65mA and 57mA respectively?
I hooked it up and everything works. However when I switch channels it has to be in sequence from 1 to 2 to 3 and vice versa. If I try and go from 1 to 3 or from 3 to 1 it won't switch and defaults to channel 1. I can switch from channel 1 to 2 and back and from channel 2 to 3 and back...
I'm liking this channel more than channel 3. I just back the gain down to 10 O'clock and I find that It's still as tight but with a bit more saturation and a bit meaner sounding.
Is the V3 slot in the VH4 cathode follower slot? I currently have a Tungsol in there and I dig it but i know the Tungsols die in the cathode follower slots.
Got a Used VH4 about a week ago for $2950 a 2009 year. When I went to install some EL34 STR tubes in it I noticed that the chassis had been drilled for marshall tube retainers, and done so well I might add. It sounds and works fine but I do feel a bit hipped. I can return it and buy a new one...
Seems like it gets tighter when the Master volume is high and you adjust the channel volume to suit.
For instance I set the Master volume to about 2:00 and the channel volume to 11:00 and it is very tight, but not as smooth. When I set the Master volume to 9:30-10:00 and the channel volume...
Upon opening up this used Einstein I noticed Rust in the seams on both sides of the chassis otherwise the amp looks like new. What do you guys think? You can click on the pic to enlarge it to see better. Does this happen in shipping? I see no external signs of poor storage.
