    NAD Laney GH-100L First Impressions

Swapped the 5881 for EL34 for a test and found that the amp sounded more like your clips. Lost some of the girth but gained some clarity in the highs. More like a Marshall for sure.

Still on the Greenback speaker. First impressions are positive. Definitely has it's own sound. Boosted with a Maxon OD808x.

The one I had was a low mid focused beast but it recorded well.

Duncan JB stock vs duncan Telegib Concept set?

While I agree that the speaker has the largest impact on the final sound, the pickup is very important for some styles.

These clips are just off the cuff trying to translate the amp. Forgive them haha This amp does love boosts but I was surprised how well I was digging it with this speaker straight in.

Marshall 1987x Monomyth Modded Tone Test

Thanks. Sure, here is a lead clip, dry, no effect or post processing. Interesting, the mids of the 87x are pretty intense in a unique way compare to other amps I have. I find it works best with standard or drop D tuning.

Straight in using a 1971 Greenback. For anyone with a Skeleton Key I would be curious how this compares?
