    Marshall 2061cx cab?

    I had one of those with my 2061X head .... it was a great cab with a big sound. Easy to move around too.

    Being that it's so clean I think I'd just leave it original... I mean it's going to be worth the most that way. The preamp and any good overdrive will make you forget about what power tubes you have anyway. :dunno:

    Yeah, the wide body is a good choice. Sounds as big as a 2x12. I never liked the Thiele... it just sounded too choked or something. It's good for bass though. My fav is a 2x12 metal grill cab.... just run some less efficient speakers like greenbacks or turn the dang amp down a bit... run a...

    NAD: 1979 Marshall JMP 2203 (pre-Zound!)

    The only reason Marshall switched to 6550s is because they were having a problem with EL34s failing during shipment. The EL34 was the original tone idea and probably the sound you hear on all the British invasion records.
