I don't know anyone in the NW part of town, but there's a guy named Ron Pace (Pace Guitars) located behind where Guitar Center used to be on Westheimer. He has his shop in his house and does great work. He has been known to take a while with some repairs, but I would completely trust him with...

Yeah, but it sounds like there's something EXTRA on that track. It's just a fatter, thicker tone than the other songs on the album. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? :scared:

Billie's tone is hard NOT to like. :yes: Does anyone happen to know what he was using on "F.O.D." on Dookie? That is the thickest, sickest tone. Did he boost his amp or was he running some kind of distortion through it? I'm dying to know. I've been obsessed with that tone for months now. :doh:

All I know is my Classic 50 has 4 el84's and just about every boost I've put in front of it has sounded good. I've settled on a Micro Amp as my main boost, but I use a modded SD-1 when I want more mids and/or gain. :thumbsup:

I still listen to the tone on Dookie and get goosebumps. Strat copy with a JB + modded Plexi = :rock:

That's great news! 18 watts will be a lot more useful at gigs than the 10 watt setting. :rock:
