It's a bit click-y, but it's not offensive to my ears either. It cuts through a wall of guitars well, so maybe it just stands out a bit much with less going on and they could have maybe dialled it back slightly?

I used to have the Rocktron Velocity 300 and when I took it to my tech he said the cooling fans only switch on when the unit gets too hot, which I thought was a bit of an odd design choice as it would get very hot, so he just set them so they were always on and it was great after that.

I always thought Fever Dream was a fantastic pop metal album, the production is excellent for a Shrapnel album too.

But the treble bleed doesn't seem to be affecting it is my main problem.

My Suhr modern seems to clean up much better, but whether it's the bridge humbucker, or the two single coils, they don't clean up very clearly and get muddy quickly. Is it the pickups do we think? The bridge is an SD Full Shred and the single coils are Custom Flat Strats. Thanks for the responses!

Got this beauty recently and I think it's supposed to have a no-load tone control and 500k pots, but the sound gets muddy quite quickly when I roll the volume down with distortion so I'm wondering what the deal is? Any ideas, let me know. Thanks!

Good tone! Just try to keep your playing a bit more in time, you're a bit ahead of the beat when it should be slightly the other way if anything. Reaper is the only DAW for me too!

For me it's those super-saturated software amp sounds a lot of metal players/producers use. Not bad sounds by any means they just sound a bit too samey and lacking any character. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if some modern metal I like has been recorded with that method haha!
