    JP2C or Mark VII?

Maybe a Lonestar 2x12 open back with a Mark IV head, 2x12 closed back cab in stereo with an A/B/Y pedal? Adding cleans behind a wicked gain amp will fatten up things, when blended well. Ask Steve Vai.

    My 1st USA JACKSON... Wow!!

I have a 1998 SL-1 that was built at the factory right up until paint, then pulled off and sent to the Custom Shop, painted Black Cherry color, and final assembly. It now has the EMG "Lukather set" pickups with SPC control added to the control cavity. FU Upgrades Brass block, spring claw, and...

Ugh, the raw neck on my new guitar spoiled me!

I keep some 1500 grit sandpaper on hand, and hit the back of the neck on my EVH B/W and worn 1973 LP necks to remove the skin cell buildup that occurs with an unfinished neck. Hit it with some lemon oil if you need to add back some of the slickness.

    JP2C or Mark VII?

If you don't need all of those crazy features, grab a Mark II/or III and enjoy the push/pull knobs.

    Mesa Shootout Mark 2C+, Mark 7, JP2C

The newer amps have many features that I will never use. I do like the push/pull knobs when changing styles of guitars on the older models, for sure.

    Mesa Shootout Mark 2C+, Mark 7, JP2C

How about knocked me nearly to the floor, when squatted in front of the metal grille 4x12 cab.

    Mesa Shootout Mark 2C+, Mark 7, JP2C

A good friend bought a 180 watt IIC+ , and I did not understand which way the "limit" control worked. THAT was a wake up call.

I think that I may have sold you one of those Mark III Coliseum amps.

    Mesa Shootout Mark 2C+, Mark 7, JP2C

The OG Mark2C+, with all the push-pull knobs makes it easy to paint yourself into a "bad tone" corner, if you are not careful. Just sayin'

New Ace tune is pretty cool

Love the 1978 record, but remember "Snowblind" was not the first release as a single, sooooo. I am interested as to the rest of the release.

Finding a Boogie Mark II C+ KRG Coli for $2300 in a music shop in Birmingham, AL for a good friend of mine.

    50 vs 100 watts

A good friend has the 180 watt Boogie Mark2C+. It is a beast as far as dynamics go. The transformers are to blame.

What's your favorite guitar and why?

My junky looking 1973 Les Paul Deluxe(converted into a Standard) with routing and full size humbuckers. Lots of mods and upgrades to the things that make a difference. The neck is a 3-piece and sanded very well with 1500-grit. The profile is insane. As they say, "LIKE BUTTA". I have a 1998...

    Mark IIC+ question

If it has the RP-11a preamp board, it sounds like one of the 2C>C+ upgrades that had the whole preamp board swapped. I would not sweat the power transformer.
