Nothing beyond normal. I’ve had mine since February 2023. I swapped to 6L6s last year. Don’t think it made much of a difference if I’m being honest except maybe needing to up the gain a notch or two on my presets to reach parity with my audio memory.
All I want out of their next update is...
Pretty sure I’ve used XLR out and recorded a mic on the cab at the same time. I can fire mine up and test that again. I will go do that now and edit my reply.
Edit: As I thought, you can definitely use the cab sim and the speaker/cab at the same time. Luckily I didn’t put an XLR cable into...
I don’t feel that it is neck heavy in the slightest. At least with the strap I’m using (I think the D’addario ezlock, not the right one for a V but whatever), it stays very balanced, no dive. Comes with straploks in the case.
I’ll try to record something for you. Will be iPhone when I do...
Really like it. I’ll have to get back to you on being neck heavy later, I was playing last night and can’t recall that (14 hour shifts all week and I just wanted to play). I want to say no, but I’ll be playing again once I’m back home. Don’t quite care for the tuners, I might swap them for...
Been contemplating for a while to pull the trigger on the Gibson Mustaine V, since the shape is my all-time favorite. Prices seemed to have dropped fairly significantly (are these being discontinued?). I would not have paid full retail price for one of these, but it’s super comfortable.
Your post had me wondering about the volumes, because I thought I’ve encountered that before. However, I just checked and made sure each channel was at volume 0.75 before switching. Nothing was noticeably louder than the other. I still have the stock tung sol preamp tubes.
VH4 plugin is a good one. Stock IRs don’t sound the best on their own but fine when mixed with other instruments. When I recorded a lead I used the VH4 plugin quickly since I was going direct to just work out the part. I was intending to re-amp to my VHX but the plugins lead preset worked...
I never really liked the guitar tone of that album and what you ended up doing sounds much better. You’re leaps above me with Symphony X riffs, I think the last one I tried playing was Inferno when it came out and I was learning guitar and just quit trying, haha.
