Don't forget that Bogner was always tweaking stuff on the earlier revisions; you could a/b a few of them side by side and they could each sound vastly different. That being said, the early Rev2 I have is the nastiest amp I've ever played. Thick, juicy, hairy, pissed off, room filling 3d filth...
It's pretty involved. I had a white reissue a few years ago that had that mod done to it. Some of the pcb traces were cut and rerouted. I took pics and sent to Bogner asking if that was normal. Jorg replied that it was part of the mod, he said it was super labor intensive and that they would...
His are modded so that the Shark channel is now the most aggressive high gain channel instead of the normal Vox/Hiwatt/horrible sounding tone that it has stock. The Brown channel will get you in the ballpark, but the modded Shark channel will get you closer to his tone than anything else. I had...
I got one of the first ones Sweetwater had and ended up selling it a few moths ago. Huge Bogner fan, my main amp is an early Rev 2 Uber. I was hoping the Ultra would cop that tone but also give me more flexibility with running a second dirty channel and having all the extra knobs and switches to...
$2900.00 shipped PPFF
I preordered this through Sweetwater before they even had any info or listings for it on their website. A few very minor scuffs in tolex, no rips or tears. Comes with footswitch and power cable. Need to raise some cash so no trades. Will ship in original Bogner box (huge...
I run mine with bass at 10:00, everything else at 1:00. Channel and master volumes around 10:00 as well. But definitely set the knobs by ear, not by eye. Can get some pretty cool tones with some of the tone controls set to extremes.
Congrats man! I had one for about a year before selling it. I was using an Uberschall Rev2 and wanted something that had the same amount of gain and aggressive voicing but with better mids that cut through the mix better. While the Eclipse definitely has tons of gain, it wasn't really usable for...
Until UPS smashes the fuck out of the box to the point where the amp head falls out and then they tell Reverb it was “improperly packaged”, then Reverb refunds you the money they charged you for their “Safe Shipping” guarantee so they can say it’s no longer covered… True story! Their insurance...
I’d recommend checking it, I’ve never bought an amp that was biased where it should be from the factory. Most of the time they’re pretty low, I’d not know if that’s to prolong life of the tubes while the amps still new/under warranty or if it’s cause of wall voltage differences across the country
I had the opposite experience with mine. Got the EL34 version, sounded good at low volumes but fell apart cranked. It was biased cold around 50%, I brought it up to 70% and it was better but still real hazy and muffled at high volumes. One of the stock JJ’s blew a few days later, replaced them...
Sounds awesome dude! I've got mine dialed in pretty similar except I mostly use the Hair setting and run channel 2 in Uber mode, my eq settings are pretty similar though. I'm a huge Bogner fan, had a ton of their amps over the years, I've got an old early Rev 2 Uber that I never thought would be...
