So does the Randall Thrasher equal the Fortin Natas?

I know this question was directed at mhenson42, but a Rectifier and Thrasher sound nothing alike. The midrange, response, negative feedback, and gain staging are worlds apart.

Great deals with titanium777 and braintheory

Titanium777 bought my Rhodes 4x12 Cabinet. He paid quickly with no issues, checked the cabinet out, and approved. Great communication and easy dealings! braintheory came and bought my Baron Custom Amps DHG. He came, saw, and conquered and took it home. Very friendly and likes his volume like a...

    Motor City Pickup question

Wade doesn't take calls as readily any more; he knows he is a talker and will stay on the phone for hours, which in turn interrupts his work and gets him behind. He takes a little while, but always delivers. Just try to be patient. I'd say 5 weeks is a good guesstimate.

Are my speakers damaged? (pics inside)

Is the frame bent or uneven at all around the location of the damage? If your speaker frame is bent, the speaker will eventually be useless because it won't have even support around the cone.

So does the Randall Thrasher equal the Fortin Natas?

Just because something is made in China doesn't mean it can't sound great. The transformers are clones of the custom winds that were used in the Natas.

    Marshall JVM ?

Tonally, most JVMs are hit are miss unfortunately. I have had three (two of which I owned simultaneously) and I got stuck with a winner. It gets used on a lot of projects at my studio. The last project I did had a different JVM mode/channel for every track on the entire record; no other amps...

Do you get tired of V30's ?

Mesa and Bogner V30 cabinets sound awesome to me. Nothing compares for recording in my humble opinion, and they're pretty cool live too, even though I tend to use Greenbacks when I play with the band.

Is the the JVM that bad???

I do agree that there is almost "too much" gain on OD2 red... however, I think that is because of the gain staging on the circuit, and there is no way for OD2 green to have enough gain if OD2 red doesn't have as much as it does. Orange is just right to me. On your second point, I don't feel...

Is the the JVM that bad???

Thanks for the kind words on the clip everyone. I will definitely hold on to my JVM for life. For $1300 or less with all those functions and a great stock tubes, you can't go wrong.

Is the the JVM that bad???

They are inconsistent IME. I have owned three of them, two of which were back to back (cosmetic issues with the former). I was lucky to get stuck with the one that sounded better. It has a phenomenal clean, really good crunch sounds, and can do the "pushed 800" sound AND modern metal sounds...

Talk me out of the new Gibson Snow Falcon V.

I think it looks cool. Ebony fretboard would likely be better (as many have insinuated).

Soldano/ Jet City/Fryette/ Kemper guys, help me out...

Many people who have owned both prefer the Soldano 50watt Avenger to the real deal. They can be had cheap used, but aren't very versatile... EDIT: I just saw you wanted a loop. Have you owned a EVH 5150 III or a Peavey 6505? They're both great amps that sound good quiet.

KK++ Back In Action with SED Winged C's

I'm letting them go too... it's inevitable they need to be replaced, so I just need to find a new favorite EL34. I've always preferred Russian 6L6/5881.
