No, I don't use noise gates. If had too, just plugged into the amp with no added gain, then that would tell me that the mod is not for me.
The work itself is really easy for a good tech to do. I'm sure they would be happy to do it. lol $$$

FWIW- I did the JEL mods on my 2203 and turned IT back to stock. Why? Well, even though the mods are easy and sounded cool at bedroom levels, it was very noisy - noise that comes with the mods. When I used it at rehearsal and at gigs, the JEL mod, was too much. Too much hiss and gain. Stock is...
Yep. Most of them sound generally the same and are way overpriced. I learned to just go with the pickups that came with my guitar, even the Squier pickups!

2203s & 2204's of course. My fist Marshall was a channel switching 2205 and it was pretty cool. Kinda buzzy sounding but I didn't know much about Marshall or amps in general back then. I traded that for a 1974 Superlead. Had that for decades as my main amp. Now I have a 2203 and that rips!
All this VH tone chasing from newbies just discovering him & his brown sound is getting really silly after all these years. Just Google it. It's not hard to dial in that sound with a PLEXI or 2203.
Not music related but Eduard isn't shipping to the US either now. They're in the Czech Republic. They manufacture scale models and accessories. What a drag. They make killer models and that's my wintertime weekend morning fun. I can still buy from US retailers but I'd like to order right from them.
