What kind of rock is going through your Splawn?

I can get all my favorite 80's and 90's tones out of it...but my favorite tones are George Lynch, Dann Huff, Steve Vai "Eat 'Em & Smile" Michael Thompson and John Sykes. All these tones are easy to dial in. The only 2 boost/OD's I use nowadays are the Xotic RC Booster and a stock Boss SD-1. My...

Duncan Saturday Night Specials? (Quickrod content...)

I had them in my old Les Paul in both the bridge and neck position and they were hands down the best PAF pickups I've ever tried...and I've tried a lot. They works for everything from blues to heavier stuff. Awesome pickups for sure.

    George Lynch tone?

And that's exactly why I wrote "a Lynchish sound"

    George Lynch tone?

I know it's not much gain and I'm using low gain myself...will try out the parametic EQ...hope someone can shed a light about the EQ on the amps in general too.

    George Lynch tone?

Like you stated...different players, different amps and still similar tones...and that's what I'm after...the settings of the gear to get that tone.

    George Lynch tone?

I'm totally aware about his amps and all...the question is about the EQ, delay and such to get into the territory. I have no clue if I should up the mid or lowering it, the same with bass, treble, presence...

    George Lynch tone?

Before anyone says it's all in the fingers, I want a guideline how to set the EQ, delay, reverb on the amp and pedals and maybe in the computer too for a Lynchish sound. I know a big part is in the fingers, but saying ALL is in the fingers are pure garbage. If that would be the case, there...

    Friedman amps quality

Absolutely top notch amps and customer service. Can't go wrong with a Friedman.

    Pedal for grainier overdrive?

Lower 100/3.2/6.4 like 0,5mm and raise the level to the nearest dot over flat. By lowering the 100hz the amp remains tight when the boost of the Cornford is activated. Otherwise I think it's too flabby. Raising the level gives the amp a lite more bark and make it a tad easier to play solos.

    Quickrod 2013 vs 2016 vs 2021

Thanks for the reply. It most definitely sounds that I want a 2016 or newer.

    Boost for More Saturation

Never tried a Splawn...but for Friedmans and other Hot-Rodded Marshalls I've always had success with the RC Booster and the Suhr Koko Boost (the first one)

    Quickrod 2013 vs 2016 vs 2021

I'm about to buy a Quickrod 100 and can get my hands on a used one made in 2013 or a brand new 2016 or a brand new 2021. I'm totally new coming to Splawn and would like to know the differences between these years...Pros? Cons?

    Pedal for grainier overdrive?

Thx all for the replies...I've tried a bunch and found that the Boss GE7 works the best for recording, while the RC Booster along the Boss SD-1 Waza works best for live situations
