I love it. I was a young teen learning guitar. These songs ruled for me. I remember going to the local music store buying ‘invasion of privacy’ music book. I’m like ‘yes it has tab!!’
Tried playing the opening riff to lay it down.
Scratch my head ‘this isn’t right?)?’
Fast forward several years. It was right. I just didn’t have that ‘groove’ or feel to play cause I sucked!! 😂
Hats off to Ratt!!! Big inspiration!!!

Love it all! Love the 80's Marshall crunch ripping all up and down the Sun Set Strip back in the day. What I'm enjoying the most about this post is the San Dimas Jackson porn! King Crosby!!!! LOL try and see if Jackson will build you a Firebird with a pointy headstock these days. Best era for Jackson's... San Dimas era golden days!

This is how I remember it also . Some may goof on the band and era now but at the time it was a blast.

I spent a month trying to figure that riff out as a teen. Every day after school I'd put the LP on the stereo and work on it.

Finally got it by accident.

oof. i always wondered what happened to the village people. the top pic looks like dimartini and crosby are about to make babies.
the 2nd pic showcases bobby’s trend setting crushed velvet vest and soft focus yearbook mullet. robben’s arm stocking and matching casio sports watch. steve’s thigh straps and subliminal penal tattoo on his chin. juan’s liquor store bangles and expression of regret. the only clues remotely indicative of testosterone in that photo are warren’s soul patch and bob’s neatly manicured chest hairs.

watch your 6 gents.

Love the song The Morning After, that opening riff is just as cool to me as Lay it Down.
Took me awhile to realize that early 80’s Ratt sound (and many other early 80s bands) recordings were more likely Super Leads rather than JCM 800 that had only just appeared. You can get close of course but the 800 is more compressed and you lose some of the nuance.
You really need a goosed super lead, bass on 0, JB and greenbacks, and also the metal pick to nail that crispy Ratt sound of the early albums.

My buddy had that video VHS and we watched it constantly. My nickname was "Warren" early in my high school years because I wanted to be that dude, lol. I was a huge DeMartini fan.

bands like poison and warrant made these guys look like bloodthirsty viking warriors on the macho scale comparison.

dimartini always had great tone and solos and without him we would have never thought twice about the band.

FACT. No warren, no interest. Such a smokin player in the context of that band.
