Finally got around to putting this one together!

Did my first little mix track, (had no idea what I was doing with compression and mastering, thanks to Fluff for helping me out) because I wanted to do this one right.

I'm sure you guys here at the forum are really familiar with the Hot Mod V2 already, as I actually learned about it from this forum when it originally released, but it's gone through some voicing changes and mods to make it a little more versatile. The V2 is now clearer with less emphasis on bass, with a switch to enhance the bass if you want some more oomph, and a gain switch to increase the saturation and compression.

The EVO is now on a high quality PCB board, as opposed to being all handwired. Because of this, price has dropped to $199 each and the availability will be much better.

I really dig this thing, especially for vintage Marshalls that you don't want to bastardize with mods, if they're somehow in stock form after all these years.

My playthrough is below:

Sounds great! I still feel I might boost it to tighten or shape it but it has a nice natural gained up sound. Sort of vintage gain mod feel. I guess it is just deciding whether or not i would use it if I am going to boost anyway. The eternal question.

I do both! Run it with the bass switch up, gain switch up, but reduce the gain and bass on the amp. Keeps it nice and tight, but punchy, and no flub, plenty of saturation.

I need to buy one of these just to keep around like I would a boost pedal. At that price there really is no reason for me not to. Marshall's are my jam so I will always have one around.

He's got a few diff model offerings. I think one can work with NMV. I know however that you can't use it with a Bugera 1960. He answers quick though. Good guy.

Maybe the changes he made allow it to work but the earlier version I had; after installing it the volume jumped considerably but no gain added. But that one was specific for MV Marshalls

I’ve been working with Dave on a custom version. I’ve tested a few prototypes with success. I’m talking higher gain and tighter bottom end. 👍. More to come 😉
Awesome, he seems like a good guy, good that he was open to suggestions. I had suggested a bass cut or tight switch and he ended up adding one to his design no doubt because of people's requests. Looks like I will be shelling out some more cash now psychodave, as usual you recommend and we end up following. You've got the George Lynch golden ears! I just have to make sure I get the american made hotmod and not another fake ..

Cool product and demo, and I dig that live jam at the beginning. You could probably do the exact same thing with a graphic in front, but you could also eliminate a pedal, so really cool product regardless.

Will that be a one-off? I kind of want to try one of these but maybe I should wait...

I can’t see why it wouldn’t be offered. I should have an updated version in a few days to test out.
I like all of the versions they have made, but my only thought was too much bass. As you know, when gain is increased the bottom end gets a bit loose, so Dave have been tinkering with changes to add both gain and tighter bottom end.

totally, this is what I hear too. Once you get the gain cooking to where a lot of people will want it, it is too tubby. So they back down the gain and kick in the OD pedal.

Maybe I missed something but that’s a 2203? It’s a 4 holer (1959) or it was? So amp was modded or?
