Wow what an axe!!

I had one many many ages ago. I loved it but had to sell all of my ibanez guitars - I just couldn’t do the necks anymore at one point.

Fucking epic!!!

What do you think about it?
It's an awesome guitar. I owned 2 JEMS many years ago. The build quality on these Japan guitars is second to none. That goes for the Joe Satriani model I had as well.
What wasn't epic was the setup out of the box. I straighted the neck, lowered the action, etc. Now it's playing like it should.
Sounds great too. I played it thru the Synergy Vai module. Holy shit!

Are the Pia's alder bodied rather than basswood?

Very nice guitar! Congrats! I like the neck on these. It is a slightly different profile and the edges are rolled out nicely. Stainless fretwork is great as well.

this one caught my eye-the teardrop cutouts look cooler than the monkey grip- but setup was stiff

my friend has 2 jems and one of them is very shreddy by comparison

i blew it and missed out on this holdsworth sig-
played like a dream and had TONE, but the ancient trem had me dragging my feet.
i used to roadie for a guy with the roadstar II back in 85 and it sucked to keep in tune—was having flashbacks!

played this 1970 rory gallager inspired strat recently. it was such a jimi/srv blues machine it was crazy. you would have loved this one! the $$$63 sg next to it was just ok…

super sick guitars and i’m right there with you! for me nothing beats my tyler, and two of my friends here bought tylers after playing and falling in love with mine. the only other newer guitar i’ve played within the last few years that i’ve been really pleased with is the charvel guthrie sig for playability and range of tones.

i’ve got a hybrid set of stringjoys on my tyler at the moment and i really like both the quality of the string and the ability to pick and choose each gauge in the set.
