what is the best bang for your buck as far as american guitars go these days? used or new.

with gibson and prs prices in the stratosphere, and fender prices up as well on the used markets, what are some good american guitars you can get these days for under say 1500 on the new market, and 1000 on the used market. is there anything besides standard strats and teles worth looking at in that price range?

You can find used USA Schecters in that price range because their resale is shit. But those are very well made guitars.
