Anyone play one and feel the tone didn't measure up to the originals, I want to hear about it....to clear up any confusion see the pic below.

That´s the JCF custom run from 20 years ago, right? I remember it as being a fairly standard custom shop Rhoads with only cosmetic changes, nothing you would suspect could nudge the tone either way.
 
I had one - played & sounded like a "normal" Rhoads, but I remember the neck being a bit more LP{ like.. not quite a PC-1 size baseball bat), but not the usual Jackson neck if that makes sense.
 
Given the madness of the market in general that may seem reasonable but with all due respect he's out of his effng mind...
