Only thing you have to watch out for on the older models is the bias drift problem. Other than that, they sound great.

Yeah I took some guitar lessons from Karl and he loves those amps but he loves Splawn amps more he just doesn't take them out of the house

I would grab it in a heart beat. Great sounding amps. If you start redplating tubes you will know you have the bias drift issue. TAD makes a kit to fix.
