So I've been capturing all my amps with the quad cortex.
I started by just throwing up a mic and capturing the amp with the cab / speaker / mic
But now ive started doing DI captures of the amps as well (without the cab and mic) so that I can use different Impulse responses / cabs, speakers & mics with the direct captures.
So now the million dollar question is , are there any down sides to making my own IR captueres with quad cortex by essentially just using a solid state clean power amp , and micing up my cabs to create my own impulse responses ? Or should I stick with using something like voxengo deconvolver and my daw?
Any thoughts or experiences are welcomed
Thanks !
