I owned a 6L6 XTC for a while and foolishly let it go. The 6L6 ‘A’ series are just so cool and so distinctive sounding compared to the EL34 ones. This is a killer, killer amp.

I'm not too familiar with these but how aggressive do these amps get? Are they good for modern metal type stuff or would a 20th Anniversary be better suited for that?

I think it does fine with modern metal. Is it an Uberschall? No, but it def has it's own flavor which I happen to love!
