First choice would be the Duncan SH 5 (Custom). If you have a Duncan SH 4 JB laying around, I would try that. I hate JB's but since it's a Les Paul it may work.

I haven't tried a Black Winter, but I've been wanting to. The Aldrich is a good pickup too. It's like a Duncan JB, but less nasally.

Try an Arcane PX-8. I have one in a K-Line LP and it smokes. Looking for another one right now for another guitar

My Psykes is not especially tight. Lots of lows and mid grunt, but the feel has some bounce to it, not supper tight like you're looking for

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! You've been all really helpful! Today I'm receiving a Gibson 500t and next week I'm gonna try the Custom 5 - sh14. To make it more interesting I will be uploading some clips with the different pickups!
In the same arena as the 500T is the PRS Tremonti. Fantastic bridge pick up for hard rock and metal.

I hated the 500t in my LP and Explorer. One of the most bland, not particularly good at anything pickups I've ever played.
For tightness, the Roxy blows it, the Aldrich and JB away. I bet Scott would ship to you.
The Motor City Detroiter and Godwood I have are pretty tight, not exactly high output, but I like them a lot.

I don't know much about custom taxes. I did get something shipped from England a while back. Got lost in normal mail, so the seller overnighted me another one. The first order showed up weeks later. lol But no tax!!
