Most overrated Guitarist on the Internet

When you have real amazing talent like Matteo Mancuso level that are just annihilating the shills , be humble and accept it .
Now I know why you go banned on TGP . They were smart enough to what a troll thread this could end up being and although a lot of Youtube guitarists are overrated I can't knock them for figuring out a way to make a living being that way

I am now dropping out of the self righteous classical music troll thread .

Henry Kaiser. Not as much overrated as I cant understand how ANYBODY can actually like him. He had Dumbles and a zillion pedals, rack stuff etc and nothing but noise. Not Gilmour during Echoes noise, more like throwing the guitar down a flight of steps noise. Granted, there are many people who dont like him, but he does have a following. I honestly dont get it.

ANYONE who talks more than plays in their videos
So 99% of them basically. Gotta especially love the ones where they review guitars by scrutinizing under a microscope every little detail that has nothing to do with tone and then for maybe 30 seconds (if we’re lucky) talk about and show how it sounds

I guess those guys just believe tone is all in the fingers, but playing isn’t, so let’s just focus on the neck and playability and even more on how conveniently the knobs are placed and how immaculate the fit & finish is that ruins any potential the wood could’ve had tonally anyway

Slightly spinning this. I have a hard time taking any YouTuber gear reviews seriously when I believe most if not all of their content sounds the same, regardless of how varied the gear is.

Ola, Fluff, Hunter, Pete Thorn, Lasse Lammert - the worst as far as I'm concerned as all of his 'reamp' comparison demos sound nothing more than adjusting EQ knobs on the same amp.

All of these guys I mentioned can surely outplay me, but none really have 'real world' demo sounds that we can expect as an end user in our own homes just jamming without recording. Honestly I prefer demos that come out good on the old iPotato than the polished ones the YouTubers have.

The most overrated guitarist IMO - on the internet or not - easily goes to Henry Kaiser. phil b hit the nail on the head there.

Maybe my ears are busted (my annual hearing tests say otherwise) or I'm too narrow minded. Or maybe I'm not turned on to the right YouTube channels.

Do people actually rate Kaiser as anything but “WTF is this shit?” :ROFLMAO: I don’t think I’ve ever heard or seen anyone say they actually listen to his music for enjoyment purposes, but I’m sure there’s some out there that enjoy the BDSM aspect of listening to …..audio.

That Rabea dude is the one I seem to hear about the most and I can’t say I’ve seen a lot of his vids, but the sheer amount some fully grown men get all erect over the dude is off putting. I may be being too cynical/presumptuous due to him being the hype man for Chapman and NDSP and I despite anything related to NDSP.

I think Rabea just exited Chapman within the last week or so. Not sure if its from fallout with the Chapman brand/Rob with its other business dealings, or Rabea is just looking to go a different direction. But I agree with your point.

Rabea Massaad Leaves Chapman Guitars After 10 Years as Signature Artist

Everyone knows that joke where you play something random and awful and say it’s jazz. Henry Kaiser is that but it’s not a joke. I’ve heard Al DiMeola do that kind of shit too even though everyone knows he can play (even if he has albums full of what sounds like stereotypical 70’s porn music).

I thought Lammert was better than those others, but haven’t heard any clips of his a while. Haven’t actually heard of Henry Kaiser
