Old Herbert mk 1 with all 6l6 boosted is one of my fav things I use . Still in my top 3. You should try that sometime if a good deal pops up online
I remember the Herbert…,
6 f’n power tubes…
Dude’s say they get lost in the mix?
Typical ‘tone factoid’ coated hoagwash.
Turn it up fool!, that’s a mason’s nightmare
when it comes to runnin’ block!!
For a damn good reason.
-it’s no bitch you sit in front of..,
and play to your own head,
-it’s a beast that drives 4X12 cabinets
(HERDS OF STACKS) through hours of stadium shows with-
I can get a sweet Cream tone out of the MKII Herbert with that little voicing switch, EQ it up,
adjust my guitar pickups to match up to the vibe
& start bringing in shit tons of signal.
“Bones in traction”…, now it’s turned into
heavy metal Cream….DETERMIINED!!!

I love this ! But ya : no problems with being heard . I play with a super loud drummer . I never got that

I still need to test them back to back but it feels similar to when I first tried my D-Moll. I think the D-Moll might lie somewhere between Hagen and Herbert feel and sound wise but I still need to play them back to back. I might change my opinion after that
Cool, and please follow-up as I'd like to know more since the D-Moll is a very familiar reference for me.

The Hagen is a dream amp of mine. Congratulations on the acquisition. The Hagen, unfortunately, is victim to presumption half the time. People who criticize it generally aren't credible or never realized they bought it with expectations of a different sound in mind. It's such an awesome amp man.

Thank you and yes, I agree! Diezels amps have a bit of a learning curve. Their sound and feel is unique. Took me a while to learn to love my D-Moll but I just kept liking it more and more. Then I got a Herbert and that just fit like a glove. The Hagen is excellent too. A very versatile amp. I currently have a VH4 on loan so I have the three big Diezel amps in my house. The VH4 is its own beast again. Less forgiving but very invigourating. That amp dances with the player

Congrats on the Hagen, I know I miss mine. Had it about 8 years and sold it like a dummy, immediately regretted.

Killer! Congrats, and let me know if you decide to sell it :D
