John5 first show with Crue..

Fans of the band will cut the fatass singer slack. So, he can't sing. Neither could Roth.
The guitarist fits like oil in water. What a lousy choice. Like Morse in Deep Purple. At least Morse was cool. This guy's a Fag X 10.

It is too bad. Mick really was the backbone of the band, maybe why his had so many issues, he was the driving force as stated. The magic is gone. Vince's timing is dreadful. At least we have the CD's to play for a lot less money. R.I.P.

Yes the blonde backup is the best part of the video. Glad I saw them a few times in the heyday and at the Hard Rock residency too with my kid.

Vince is particularly bad on Dr Feelgood. Just painful.

Yikes... timber is sort of there but it's worse year by year ( already bad for about a decade) I can't really hear Nikki and he never did anything that special anyway so that leave's Tommy to play to a click track. He seems to be able to do that well at least. I wish there was a law to prevent anyone 40 + from buying tickets to these shows. They have embarassed themselves. Should have stuck to the " contract"

Something I noticed after seeing Metallica and watching the live vids, even with decent, soundboard audio, is that they lack the low end that fills in all the dead space at a live show. Like “Sad But True” sounds like plinky ass on YouTube vids, but at the actual show it’s entirely different. When I cranked these Crue vids up on my entertainment system and bumped my sub up, you can hear the low end a little better, filling up that space caused by the slower tempos. It makes things sound even slower/dull in YouTube vids because without that low end information, it sounds like dead space.

My biggest gripe about John5 is the same gripe I have with Petrucci; their picking hand is so polished they hit every single note exactly the same, regardless of the tempo or energy of the song. There’s zero dynamics in it that gives players their personal identity. Somewhere in the early 00’s, Petrucci crossed over to that side. Just listen to him playing “Scarred” back in the 90’s and then listen to him playing it any time in the last 20 years, incredibly dynamic solo that now just sounds like a series of notes being played by a time/velocity corrected VST.

I thought it was pretty cool that Motley is giving him the freedom to do what he wants onstage, there hasn’t been that much movement on their stage since the early 90’s. It was pretty much what I expected, though I thought Vince would be in a little better shape than he is. For someone who has toured as much as he has, man….most singers in his position know exactly when they’re going to breath and exactly how they’re going to sing the set, that dude is just all over the place. Instead of developing his head voice to help him out, he seems to use it as a throwaway/‘oh shit I have to go to this voice now” and it sounds fucking terrible. “Shout At The Devil” might as well be called “My Name Is Ethyl”.

that's a great point about the metronome alternate picking.. it goes from feel to being perfect and loses all urgency and excitement. YJM is still exciting because although he is a machine, he just goes, doesn't worry about the exact timing. Plays early or catches up late. He also has way more exciting licks and sweeps than John5 does. I swear I can break down John5 into a series of patterns that are fixed where they are and just go up and down the neck. They really are not hard to play at all.

ALSO, look at the end of the show bow. There are a few out now... John5 is the only guy who doesn't put his arm around a stage dancer girl when they all salute. Is he afraid of his wife or something? Is he above the dancers?

He is on wife #3.....guy is terrified of lawyers.

Wife #2 was a pornstar btw.

Playing MC is like kindergarten to most guitar players, just maybe not beginners.
I saw them live in the late 80's, I think they were opening for Bon Jovi. When Mick did his solo, I was like, WTF is that. I had only been playing for a couple years and my solo's sounded better and made more sense.

More vids... his tone sucks. His turkey head bopping looks so cheesy, I can't stand this nerd lol. The tele is growing on me though, but obviously needs to be worn somewhere in the vicinity of his waist to have any appeal. Before anybody gets on me about what I have done or can do. YES I think after 2 months reherseal, some cool clothes and a few hundred K I could do as good as this cheeseball. I will even wear striped pants. the band is completely done though. No life. Give it up.

Darn! That was bad on all accounts....

I still manage to fuck some of it up.
