EMG-57TW vs 89/89R/89X

I have never tried the 57TW, but keep in mind the coil-splittable EMG's always sound a bit different than their humbucker only versions.

The 89 is leaner and brighter than the 85. I honestly kinda prefer it.

The 81TW is fatter and lower output than the 81.

I don't know what the deal is with the 57TW, but do keep in mind that the regular 57 is just slightly hotter than the 85, but more noticeably hotter than the 81.
 
Got the "Steve Lukather " EMG-X set in my Jackson SL-1 with the SPC mid boost control. The mid boost can bring back what is lost with the Floyd Rose bridge.
 
I got the 57-7 and couldn't get it out fast enough... 'Nasal cocked wha dogshit, like I was playing through a 5" speaker..
I put a 707X and it's great. Balanced full range with a harmonic top end.
If there is an 85X I would go with that. I'd put the 89 in the Neck.
