I get a kick out of people directly blaming Josh for the people actually raising the prices. Dude’s got hundreds of vids on random pedals, unless he’s got some subliminal message in specific videos for people to raise the prices, it seems to be completely arbitrary which ones will skyrocket in price.

I also find it humorous that the dude is basically Ned Flanders in the flesh but people treat him like he‘s Satan incarnate.
Just like sueing the banana plantation for the banana peel you slip on .

The price of the Digitech Talker, the original Whammy Pedal, the Freqout Pedal and others, are going to become more outrageous.

I sold an old original 1960's Univox Univibe for an outrageous price last year and I could have kept raising the price and the guy would have paid more .

Lets see how long it will take till someone finds out that the pedal had different revision and revision X is the one with the fairy dust, unicorn-poopoo IC chip inside that brings all the "magic" in tone.

Last month someone listed an original WH-1 Whammy for $325. I already have a WH-2, WH-5 and all the Whammy shit in the Fractal gear, but I'm a Whammy fanatic....I debated it for 2 minutes and it was gone and I'm still berating myself for it.

meh, this is old news. 13 years old news:

Many guitarists are just part of a herd...

It’s funny how people are getting mad at JHS for “blowing up the price” of those Bad Monkey pedals, as if anybody was in the position of desperately having wanted one for years but has never been able to get one at the unobtainably exorbitant price of $59, and NOW they’re even farther out of reach at $250 DAMN YOU JOSH SCOTT I ALMOST HAD ENOUGH SAVED UP AFTER 19 YEARS!

The real issue is that guitar players are just morons, every bit as susceptible to marketing as children are for cereal. I guarantee you if JHS pedals had just done some video about how great the Bad Monkey is without comparing it with anything, nothing would’ve changed. It would’ve sounded the same as it did in the video he just made, but because it wouldn’t have been compared against something more expensive, no one would’ve given a shit. Instead, JHS compares it to a ludicrously expensive pedal and suddenly everyone wants one.

The reason they are mad now is even dumber. Now, they have been given knowledge, but so has everyone else so now it’s not exclusive anymore. Josh Scott made a video that everyone can see and now the “secret is out“ and the price is up. So really, what they are actually mad at is the fact that JHS didn’t specifically go out of their way to call them up to tell them, and nobody else, about this pedal specifically, out of the blue, 19 years after the pedal was introduced, for no reason.

“I am mad at Josh Scott because he didn’t reach out to me personally first before he reached out to everyone else about ta pedal even though I’m just some guy out in the world somewhere who he has never spoken with him before.”

Morons.

@TheGreatGreen given all the interest stirred up about the Bad Monkey, a 13 year video from Burgs showed up in my YT feed, which I posted above. He did a Klon vs BM comparison 13 years ago, so it's not like it's new news.

I find the whole dustup, drama and angst entertaining, like any discussion about tonewood, pickups, and new/different things that break with guitar traditions.

The bad monkey was super hyped up when it came out at hcaf, I should have grabbed one back then.

Folks... this is Shill/Influencer 101. Josh is just sitting back laughing. Now he can say anything about any pedal and it can more than likely determine the value thanks to some gullible people ?‍♂️

Which came first? The desire to buy a BM, or the price jacking?

Guitar players are selling these pedals for $300 and getting away with it. If you ask me....Guitar players are smart. ?

The most ludicrous thing to me about all this Josh stuff is when people get all “Josh knows his influence on the market and should act appropriately” They’re fucking pedals for Christ’s sake, the dude isn’t controlling the global economy.

Another dude was ranting about how Josh is gaslighting his own audience with stuff like this. Pointing out idiocy when idiocy is ACTUALLY happening is not gaslighting. Just a bunch of disgruntled fuckheads making an issue out of a $25 fucking pedal no one gave a fuck about for nearly 20 years.
