I sold this before the pandemic and regretted it before I even put the money in my pocket. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to get it back yesterday. The circuit is based on the Atomic topology with a few liberties taken, one gain knob. 3 way bright switch, 3 way 2nd stage cathode bypass, 3 way diode switch, and I did a little something different on the depth control. It has a push pull. In, it's a normal Cameron type depth. Pulled out, is a bass boost and the rotation of the knob is overridden. Usually in these amps, with the bright switches on and lower gain settings, the amp thins out, to the bass boost fill things out giving it a nice full low-end in low gain settings. The B+ is a lo 400v on this beast, thus the 80 watts, but there's plenty of headroom. I left the v1A plate resistor stock since the voltage was already low enough at that position. You have to be in the room with this beast to appreciate it.

The first part is into a greenback loaded cab until 3:30, which is the V30 Soldano, then whenyou see me hold up 2 fingers, is both a V30 AND Greenback cabinet


The second clip is with no diodes and will the bass boost engaged. Plenty of gain, although the Psykes is helping a bit :D

Can it do anything about my hair , not so slowly turning that way?

No kidding about Roccaforte. The most unruly yet tight, high gain but super responsive beast of an amp. Thor, Beast and Hulk rolled into a slicing sledgehammer for the earholes.
 
Yup, the Roccaforte’s are a beast.

I had a Custom 40 that Friedman modded for me along time ago and I really regret selling that.

I loved the amp before it was modded also. Very Hiwatt inspired.
 
Awesome Scott. I am always on the lookout for an old Rocca used that might "slip through the cracks" used. I wonder what Doug is up to these days. I think he would be a great addition to OTC...
 
Actually never played a Roccaforte that I liked enough to buy, even used. I always though they would make a great amp after some tweaks but stock they weren’t quite there for me.

We need a wicked’ good Strat single coil
bridge pickup.
I always identify by nature to the top-end
in the guitar & the pickups/amp & speakers
when I tune into the sound I’m hearing.

Gilmours two BLISTERING guitar solo’s in the
song ‘Money’ rang up the top-end in that
zone you wind around.

I bet my 3 nuts that Yngwie would probably
be all about one dude!!
There’s rooom to be the gold leader back
there man, in that bridge department brotha’!

Pertaining to the whole ‘humbucker pickup to single coils and potential pots & caps changes’ ETC,

Btw, you have an ingenious small company
R&D tool.
You keep the costs down so dude’s can check
out your pickups and get legitimate feedback from
players who are looking for something different
then what’s in their guitar.

Why did he close up shop?
 
His amps always looked super well built to me, I’ve almost pulled the trigger on a few over the years I’ve seen cheap. What was the jeans company you are supposed to wear playing these?
 
Lower gain tone with some HSS pickup actions. @LPMojoGL's Squier has the first single coils that I ever wound and a sunset strip. The singles are low wind just under 6k

 
That sounds really really good!

I had Mig 60 and sent it to Rocca back in the day for a simple mod to JCM800 specs and a gain boost on a toggle. Bought it for peanuts, and sold it for peanuts. I'm a moron.
