Scored this bad boy for 600 euros shipped all the way from Italy to my door! It's a late 2004 model loaded with 4 v30s t4335 dated April 2004. I'm pretty sure the tremoverb will sound massive through it. Gonna post some clips soon

I really like these older recto cabs. It is as much about the grill-cloth as it is the older v30s IMO.
Those older grill-cloths are more tightly woven and they filter the ultra-highs better than the current mesa grills that you can easily see through.

Congrats! Probably my favorite all around cabs. Work with every amp I’ve thrown at it and sound great for cleans through rampage.
I don't think old Marshall's sound that great through a Mesa OS cab, maybe a traditional they would sound a bit better, but there's something about Mesa cabs that just don't seem to work well with Marshall's. Marshall's sound best through Marshall cabs or something similar. Probably some of the only amps that like those g12t75 speakers too.

Great score man! I regret selling mine EVERY-FKN-DAY now knowing how different they sound from current versions. That was a special time period for those cabs. Nothing sounds like them for metal. Its the perfect tone. I have a 2012 OS and its nothing like my '05 cab was. I can see why more and more players these days prefer the traditional over the current OS.

Yea , it’s almost like Marshall puts those 75s in their cabs for a reason.

I think as John Browne's comparison videos are showing, those speakers vary a lot from one to another even of the same years, so maybe it's really more about getting a quad that blend well together.

In my 03 straight/slant you could easily hear that one of the tops and one of the bottoms are less mid-forward (hate to say "scooped" about a v30 lol), and the other two are a bit more typical v30 upper-mid spiked.

All four speakers have the same exact codes and I have no doubt they are the originals to that cab, yet it's almost like they did an x-pattern with the perfect match of v30s. I'm sure it was just happenstance but man did they blend perfectly. But me being me I removed the two "scooped" sounding and replaced them with a pair of k100, which of course are even more scooped relative to v30s.
