Spanky when played clean or fatten right up and has some give when you dig in.
Sounds great. What amp are we hearing? These are really, really good.
I like them better than the BB Pros in my LP, and the T types in my 335.
They remind me of everything I like about the SD Antiquity, Seth Lover, and the Burstbucker 1&3 I had in my old LP and SG.
I preferred hotter PAF A2 pups, until I met Scott. I never liked hi output pups (expect the JB in a G&L hss) or ceramics like the 500T and Super Distortion.
Before trying Scott's pups, I tired BK, Railhammer, a few different SDs...they all weren't as good as those A2s. Motor City Detroiter (SG bridge) and JWP Godwood set (Explorer) were the only keepers with A5 mags out of the pickup merry go round.
Then Scott came around, with his hi output, unoriented, rough cast or whatever, handwired A5 pups, and I saw how good other pups could be. I even dig his ceramics like the Psykes and the great new one in his Kramer.
So, back to these A2s. I played them, in that LP, thru the SLO and Scott's Rocca. It was like coming home. Love the feel. Def want to get a set or 2.
Most was the Roccaforte, I know the second riff was the SLO. You have to see if the cable is plugged into the left side of the SLO. If not, it's my modded RoccaSounds great. What amp are we hearing?
Was that some Saint Joe I heard?
Really nice work Scott. As always manMost was the Roccaforte, I know the second riff was the SLO. You have to see if the cable is plugged into the left side of the SLO. If not, it's my modded Rocca
Thanks. I promised myself that I wouldn't go down the PAF rabbit hole. People have too many different perceptions of what a PAF should sound like. The focus here.was the feel under gain. They're great clean, but they fell really nice under the fingers with some gainThis may be one of my favorite sounds out of the samples of your pickups you've posted.
I love the chirp you're getting on those rakes at like the 5 second or so mark...right outta the gate. And that solo tone around the 40 second mark is just great.Thanks. Agree. The LP, pup, amp combo hit the spot, bullseye. Def want them in my LP. Wonder how they'll sound thru the 4104.This may be one of my favorite sounds out of the samples of your pickups you've posted.
Saint Joe?Sounds great. What amp are we hearing?
