This video got recommened on yt and if what he showed is true oh boy the stock loop is trash. Funny enougn I don't see a whole lot complaining about the stock 2203x being useless?

Can someone confirm that the 2203x loop is actually like this, if so I might have to buy an aftermarket fx loop. thanks

The loop is the same one that's in the 2555x, which is very good IMO. The first Cameron I had was a 2203x, the loop worked great.
Unless the loop was changed since 2018 when I had a 2555x.

Edit: Jason knows his stuff, so I'd believe him when it comes to his loop being better. But in all honesty I never had a problem with the stock loops in modern Marshalls.

Thats interesting, guess I'll just do without until I receive my amp

The stock marshall loop in the video sounds horrible, tone killer.

I have a 1987x and the stock loop in this one sucks. The other reissues I had didn’t seem this bad so I’m going to try one of these. Issue I’m having is the effects are way too pronounced and I use an EQ in the loop for a solo boost and it adds almost no volume. If anyone has an idea that it could be something other than the loop itself I’d love to hear that persons thoughts.

There must be different versions then; never had a problem with the 2555x from 2018. I used to run an Intellifex through it. Maybe it's similar to the SLO design, where rack stuff works better vs pedals?

I honestly don’t like the loop in my 800 reissue. I thought it was bad . You might be right

I have a modded 2203X, and the original owner had to have the loop replaced with a Metro because the stock loop crashed and burned for some reason. IDK.

I wonder what years. I am pretty sure for the last few they have been putting a serial loop in. That is hard to fuck up i would think;

The stock loops don’t have a lot of headroom, they run on a low voltage. Also the way Marshall wire it in the 2203x, the Master volume is pre loop - so it effectively becomes your Send level. In other words you have to run the amp loud to get a decent signal out through the loop. The master should be post loop….

I can confirm the stock loop on a 2203x sucks tone big time. I didn’t want to use it and left it bypassed all the time.
