Covid Ain’t Stopping my Royalist NAD, Motherfucker!

Been sitting on my floor in a box for a few days ‘cause I was pretty bad with the ‘vid. Starting to get a little better and the Wife out of the blue, even sick herself says “Let me help you get that setup”. Not only Covid but my neck Fusion from January alone has me not lifting the thing out of the box, or moving other heads to make room for it. She helps me get it to the basement, unbox it, helps me move a Mesa that will need to end up on top (depth differences) and lifts the amp by herself out of the box to put it in position. Luckily it’s not super heavy. God damn, I love her.
So yeah, the playing is sick, but not in a rad or wicked way but fuck it. I was jonesin’ to see if this was a keeper. I think it is. iPhone audio from fairly close as I am without an interface at the moment.

 
Thanks guys, it’s all in the Pinky and the Brain T-Shirt. It has the thicker, throatier response I like from the old amps, where JMP MV”s and JCM (great at their own thing) are more sizzle. I found the EQ to be very effective and the voicing switches to sound distinct, not just different levels of saturation on the same tone stack. The pull thick was musical but I didn’t need it with a Gibson. I was hoping to really dig the 67 setting and it is not disappointing. Built in attenuator seems good but I did run this clip using my PS2, which is what I plan to use anyway for its loop. Got an interface on the way, looking forward to how it performs under a mic.
 
It’s got that big pushed Marshall character and I can tell it’s transparent and unforgiving just like a Marshall should be. I wouldn’t be able to tell in a blind test that it wasn’t a great sounding vintage piece/score.

Get well soon covid be damned! I had that junk 2 years ago and was down and out for over two weeks and very weak - couldn’t even drive.
 
Thanks for the well wishes guys. Got on the Pax pretty quick (love me some Dr On Demand) and I think it’s helping curtail it. I’m a fair bit better than the first few days which started Saturday but this crap is notorious for holding on or coming back in strength so staying positive. I know because my test this morning said so…lol When I get my new Interface I’ll try a proper recording. I have an assortment of speakers so if anyone is curious I could do different takes on different settings with different speakers. I got a Joyo re-amp box a while ago and this could be a good way to use it.

What interface did you go with? Just shopped them, ended up with SSL. Dig it.
The amp sounds great. I like all I've heard from the new Royalist so far. Enjoy that!

Man, this thing sounds great. I would rather have one of these than any of the Friedman or Bogner Marshall attempts or what have you. I’m happy with the JCM 800 and pedals for a lot of stuff I want Marshall tones for but I think this Royalist is the only other Marshally thing I have legit GAS for right now. I really like the idea of it, the setup, and it sounds like they really pulled it off.
 
The vid is such a strange virus. Did nothing to me really.. few hours of feeling tired and a tad sick. All my colds before and after it have been way worse and pounded my lungs into oblivion.

Amp sounds great though.. does it F-ck? and by that I mean, does it VH everything on ten??

Should have gotten your 50 vaccines/boosters like the rest of us.. because really, they didn't make that much difference at all :p
