Found this "Marshall" assumedly JCM 800 cab semi local to me. Seller says all speakers original, no recones. Look at the one pic with the yellow arrow pointing to a black, not bare wire, going from the negative terminal to the cone. Doesn't seem right. Also, where's the cab's center brace and missing lower left front corner badge? Is this even a Marshall cab? Thanks.

It looks like it could be a Marshall cab that was re covered with that fuzz, and the grill was also replaced...not a great job though. The middle brace looks like it used to be there. The wires if original should be twisted so those speakers were either not original or they re did the wiring. That wire does look odd; does that speaker have a 444 cone stamp? Looks like I see part of a 4.....
I'd vote for a re covered Marshall cab, and that speaker might be original IF it has the 444 stamp...those are the speakers you want though!

Fender, Crate and Carvin did the fuzzy covering in the late 80s. I don’t recall Marshall using it. I hated that stuff.

I have never seen those screws in the baffles on the inside. Maybe Canadian cabs were like that? I would say it is not a Marshall cab. The speakers look pretty far apart from each other.
That black wire doesn’t look original to me. Others are not like that are they?

Actually just saw a pic of a 900 cab and those speakers were far apart like that. Also had that brace across the front. Maybe a recovered 900 cab?

The others seem like they’re the expected bare wires. To be honest I don’t even care about the cab as I’m only after the speakers as they will be transplanted to a better cab. This is going for a good price so if the speakers are fine that’s all that matters.

Don't tell me you all didn't think to yourselves,,,,, Marsha Marsha Marsha.
Looks Crate to me, but those speakers are very cool.

Maybe that wire broke at some point and was “repaired”. If they all work probably nothing to worry about.
Maybe price it as three good speakers and one maybe.

Probably. The wire from the positive terminal on the same speaker looks normal. But the overall wiring job looks like a mess. Notice the spliced together one on the bottom, in the middle? Sheesh! The price is still too good to pass up.

It is a mess for sure. Looks like they were removed from one cab and put in that one. Kept trying till they worked. ?

Take a 9 volt with you and make sure the speaker cones all move.

At least it is pictured and not
snakeskin. ?

The Rola g12-65 and g12-80 were killer speakers if you find the right ones.
