A speaker blend discovery

I just gave up speaker blending a few years ago...
In paper they should give you the best attributes of each speaker...but what I found out is that it narrows your amp settings too much...it might work...but you lose some of your amp...and its too much for me anyways...

the best speaker combo I found (have tried V30/T75, G12M/V30, G12M/G12H, G12H 55hz/G12H 75, G12M/T75) was the G12H 75hz/Classic Lead 80...
Nowadays I just use G12H 75hz in a front loaded cab and I am happy...

I love these speaker combinations: K100s x V30s, K100 x T75, and T75 x V30s

I use separate 2x12s to mix them together: IE: K100 2x12 on top of V30 2x12

For example, K100 x V30 = V30s bring the rumble and low end, K100s fill out the EQ spectrum, making my FX lush and 3D.

Good stuff to try here !

I went down the rabbit hole and came out hating the inconsistency of blending speakers. It’s unreliable what they soundguy is going to do at the gig, and as you walk around the room or stage is much more varied than even the inconsistency of using the same speaker in a cab. I mean it’s cool if you always stand at a good distance from your cab in the same spot, but that’s never been how I play guitar personally.

I blend IRs all the time. It’s just east and saves from EQing as much.

So, Audio Assault has a better sounding Celestion® Vintage 30 T3904 60 watt (UK Made) IR.

Blended 50/50 with their Celestion® G12M 25watt - Kurt Mueller cone 75Hz

Thanks OP ! This is the shit !

No worries, glad you're enjoying it. Haven't heard of Audio Assault, will check them out.

Does this count as speaker blending? MS-12 in the c+ DRG combo, C90 in the top cab and EV12L in the bottom cab. Both 1x12's are open back.

EVM12L + Redback is to fucking die for. I mean old school 12L’s, not the newer 12L Classics which are way more sensitive and lack the low mids & smoothness of the originals. 12L + Scumback H75 is also amazeballs. Mojotone Greyhound plays well with those three as well.

I’ve tried numerous combos of 20-somethin different speakers over the past couple years and those were the clear winners. Wife called me a nerd when she saw me adding to the 20 pages of notes-to-self on my phone regarding my speaker testing.
