Up for sale is a very special master-built stereo power amplifier from Mr. Steven Fryette. The Classic XXX is a reissue of the legendary VHT Classic, widely considered to be the finest stereo power amplifier ever made. These were limited to 30 units, and I purchased this one (#21) direct from Clif Jones at LA Vintage Gear. It is in excellent+ condition and has maybe 25 hours of play time in my smoke free/pet free studio. Never gigged and babied to the extreme! I've photographed any flaws I can find, and you will see there is a tiny abrasion along the top left edge of the faceplate. There are also a few minor scratches on the chassis that appear to have happened prior to the final application of coating, but I have photographed them nonetheless. What you see is what you get!
The amp comes with the factory Mullard EL34's and Ruby preamp tubes, stock power cord, and will be shipped fully insured in the original box and packaging. Here is your chance to own the best of the best. Thanks for looking!

The Classic XXX Master-Built Stereo Power Amplifier is Fryette Amplification’s 30th Anniversary Reissue of the venerable Classic Power Amp used by Steve Lukather, Steve Vai, Michael Landau, Dean DeLeo (STP) and Mick Mars (Motley Crue), just to name a few…
When first produced, there wasn’t a power amp on the market that could compete with the Classic, and there hasn’t been another one since. Like its namesake, the new Classic XXX is a 100 watt per channel stereo guitar power amplifier that delivers unmatched clarity, and maximum stereo soundstage. To this day, Dean DeLeo is still touring with his original Classics, proving without a doubt that this amplifier was and still is designed to last decades with only nominal maintenance.
Tonally, the Classic XXX produces rich upper harmonic detail via eight Mullard EL34 power tubes, which are identical in performance to, and produced on the same equipment used to make the Eastern European manufactured RFT EL34s used in the original amps. We used examples of these original tubes from our reference library to assure adherence to the original standard. Speaking of originality, the new Classic XXX uses the same transformers as fitted in the original amplifier, produced by the same supplier to guarantee there will be no performance deviation between the original model and the XXX.
In Triode Mode, the Classic XXX delivers 60 effortless watts per channel into a 4, 8 or 16 ohm load. Using Triode Mode together with Half-Power Mode, allows for maximum low power amp saturation with a low fan speed setting, ideal for studio recording where silent fan operation is essential. No other power amplifier available offers as much harmonic balance, wide open-dynamic delivery and powerful bottom-end response.
For 30 years, Fryette power amplifiers have set the standard for sound quality, power and rugged reliability. The designs are straightforward and functional, the build quality is unmatched, and long-term roadworthiness is amply attested to by legions of touring bands that depend on them.
