They have a new one that was released yesterday, but this one in 2022, Of Kingdom and Crown is brutal.. Flynn always gets a narly, aggressive tone.. The new one isn't as good..

I'll have to check this out. I haven't listened to much beyond Unto the Locust. While that even wasn't my favorite by far, they lost me after that. The early raw shit is my preference. They get a bit too mainstream later on for my tastes, but I get bands doing what they do, especially as they get older and creativity and rage, raw energy dries up, it's to be expected.

On that second one, sounded a little like he’d been listening to Behemoth.
These guys lost me with the Burning Red and never got me back.

Yeah, I kinda stopped after the Locust album myself.

In my opinion, Burn My Eyes is a top 100 metal record of all time. They never quite recaptured it's toughness, atitude, and raw aggression.
I saw them with Napalm Death and Obituary when that album came out. No idea who they were. But, they got my attention and Burn My Eyes was quickly purchased. It's definitely an underrated and under the radar album that kicks ass.

Can’t believe I missed this album too. Machine Head never disappoints. Their blend of intensity and melody is as strong as ever. It’s like discovering a great academic resource late into the semester, you wish you’d found it sooner. Sites like https://onlinepaperhelp.net/ work the same way: quietly solid until you finally give them a shot. Now I’m diving back into the whole discography. Always great when a band reminds you why you loved them in the first place.

The music is fine, a little basic and boring, but fine - good 5150 tones, blah riffs

the lyrics to choke on the ashes of your hate are truly cringe levels of gay - Rob Flynn is a virtue signalling clown and he needs to reign it in a bit

I feel like even though machine head has gone downhill, vogg seems to have reinvigorated them. So hopefully they continue to improve and their music gets better. I have no hope for the cringe-factory that is their lyrics and aesthetic though

Rob Flynn is most definitely a toolbag. This album is the 1st Machine Head album I've listened to in years, only because of Vogg.

And Vogg left MH, focused 100% on Decapitated at the moment. Yes, I'm a Vogg fanboy. :D

My hope for both machine heads music and rob flynn not being a douchebag are considerably less now :hys:

The Burning Red was truly the 90’s Cold Lake. Unfortunately MH doesn’t have a Monotheist in them.

No they really don't. Rob just happened to cross paths with the zeitgeist in the 90s for a brief moment, and he's been at odds with or trying to catch up to it ever since.

he reminds me of those people you know IRL that sincerely don't realize how annoying and cringey their behavior is.

The more of his personality that's in a Machine head album, the less likely it is to be remotely interesting

I really feel Flynn, like Trivium tries so hard to be hard, that it comes across as totally disingenuous. Almost like AI generated super cliche bullshit song titles like, “Falling from the Angels scorned divinity lurks the essence of faithlessness”

You mean like "Choke On The Ashes of your Hate" ? :hys:

"I want everyone to know I think orange man bad.... how can I sound like a stereotypical heavy metal guy, but at the same time virtue signal that "hate" is bad :unsure::unsure::unsure:"
