Noise gate patch cable

Thought this was interesting and may have to try it. Basically the dude inserted 2 diodes on the hot wire of a patch cable and it reduces high gain preamp hum/noise. The one caveat is it introduces a little crossover distortion from the diodes. That doesn't seem to be noticeable with crunch & high gain, but you can hear it if you go clean.

It's like the Peavey "noise gate" all over again.

It changes the gain character. Nothing is free. Shit I wish noise gating in circuit was that simple. The one I have designed has over 40+ components and many opamps.
