Here’s a Langner modded 1980 2204 Marshall with 7 total preamp tubes that you may have seen before. I had a seasoned amp tech service the amp top to bottom maintaining the original mod. Trannys appear to be original. Two channel with a tube buffered effects loop that can be jumped for more gain. I don’t know much about this amp, other than it sounds killer!

Tubes appear to be roasting
They do look toasty. The amp was serviced and plate voltage was “cold” before setting it up hotter. I just took the photo below with no filters.

The power tubes just have a filament glow. The gray part in the tubes aren’t red.

Wild to see all the preamp toobz just loitering in a lil cluster like that
Agreed! It's sort of memorizing seeing that many preamp tubes on a 50-watt chassis. Langner was an artist.

Did you personally have Langner mod this amp?
Nope, but I had Chris Barnett spend 7hrs servicing the amp. If I had the mod done originally, I would not have opted for the two black knobs to the left of the amp face because they individually attenuate the voltage of each of the two power tubes. I leave the controls on 10 and the amp functions as if that mod wasn't engaged. Also, Chris has worked on several Langner mods in past decades and recognized the work on this amp and was careful to maintain the original mod when servicing the amp.
